oh the blinding pinkness
# Tuesday, March 14, 2006
I have just realized that when I get stressed, I take it out on ...

My eyebrows. I pull at my eyebrows.

The fact that I can even notice it (I am usually oblivious to details of my appearance) means it must be bad.

No pictures for you!

Adobe Premiere, oh how I hate thee sometimes!

The fruits of my labor shall be worth it, though. Stay tuned for clips of my work.

The week in summary: Friday, my cell phone was stolen. Saturday, got a new SIM card activated and was back in business with my backup phone. Went to Crome to go clubbing (welcome back, Chris! I had fun but discovered later that other friends had been unfairly snubbed at the door, BOOOOO) and then to Mai's for late-night grub. Recovered from Saturday on Sunday. Monday: did my friends 'n family treatment sessions, and was granted a gourmet meal for me and a friend by Chef Hugh. Tuesday: met a friend's new dog.

And I got real up close and personal with greatness on Wednesday: I got invited to a Project Runway Finale viewing party downtown and just so happened to be standing in front of Chloe and her boyfriend, so I got a chance to chat with her a bit. (OK, keep in mind that I don't watch TV, so I only got barely acquainted with the the show earlier that day via website.) Obligatory "I saw / chatted with / shared breathing space with Chloe" pic here! Thanks Will for the hookup!

Perspective, perspective, it's really all about perspective.

There are so many things I should be thankful for, rather than whining about my sorry self.

I have patients who believe in my abilities to treat them.

It was just my cell phone that was stolen, not my laptop nor cameras nor wallet, plus no one was physically or emotionally traumatized by the incident.

I have friends and fam who I love and who love me and stuff. (Somehow the grammar doesn't sound quite right here ... oh well)

These listed in no particular order.

The week in pictures.

So I've gone and gotten the $19.99 SIM card replacement, and am back in action. Will have to input all of my phone numbers again ... manually ... since there is no bluetooth or infrared on this backup phone. Anyone have a bluetooth / infrared phone they can lend me so I can get the majority of my numbers back on my SIM card again without my fingers falling off? :)

So I've logged into my cell phone account online and am seeing that there HAS been activity on it in the past 18 hours when I haven't been able to find it. Yet, it's not like the person with my cell phone has been making international calls (to my relief) nor extravagant calls at all even (not that it would matter all that much with free nights and weekends anyway). Of the 31 calls, 28 were to the same number, each time 1 minute long, and clumped together in 1 minute increments. I called the number, and it was some hungover sounding black dude. 1 was a 1 minute call to a rather specialized clothing store on Richmond. One call was a 4-minute call to a black dude who, when asked if he remembers any calls from last night, replied, "Girl, I went out last night, so I got alotta calls!" And 1 was a 2-minute call here to the clinic! Which baffles me. Because on our caller ID here, there is no record of such a call.

So basically ... I'm piecing together an interesting picture of who has my phone right now. But the calling pattern is definitely weird (calling someone 8 times in a 20-minute time span).

I've been at the clinic all day today, and ... somehow I have misplaced my cell phone. And no, I can't call it to locate it because I always set it to silent, without vibration, when seeing patients. It is somewhere in these 1200-some square feet, and it is really worrying me. I still have yet to dig through the trash cans to see if I dropped it in there somehow.

I know I had it with me earlier today ... yargh.

And you KNOW that when it turns up, I'll be kicking myself in the head for leaving it in such a stupid place.

That said, if you wanna get a hold o' me ... I guess I'm limited to e-mail, checking my voice msgs periodically, and personal visits to my pad / clinic. :)

As you may have noticed (well, you'd have to be color-blind and pretty much blind to not have), I've got a new look goin' on here. Infinite thanks to the infinite patience of my gracious webhost EnVaDoR, with whom I have exchanged at least 20 e-mails back and forth within a 12-hour period regarding "How do I ... ?" and "Why isn't ___ working?" and "Could I possibly ... ?"

New functionality:
- search my retardedededness
- add my azz to yer feedreader
- schnazzy calendar navigation
- neato categories for my ramblings

To do:
- slowly manually copy ye olde stuff into this new format
- git a pink layout all up in here!

Thank you for your patience whilst the site undergoes reconstruction!

the swankiest strawberries I have ever hadHung out with Eddy and co. tonight. Discovered the amazing world of RAW shooting tonight as well. Not that it helps the blurry pics. But it is so awesome. The excitement has made me post pics in record time. Oh man.

This is the first fried green onion pancake party where Eddy has actually run out of green onions from his pot of scallions he grows on his balcony. And this is the first fried green onion pancake party where I have totally neglected to take ANY pictures of his famous green onion pancakes. Derrr. But there are other yummies to behold ...
