Photographer shoots in various interesting positions.     Pigging out thanks to a gift certificate from Restaurant.com with a hefty minimum purchase requirement and really reasonably priced food at Ziggy's Health Grill. Yes, these 3 dishes are all mine.     Hugh pretends to help me eat all this food.     Cool sunset seen on the way home from work.     I walk into Hometown Vegetarian Cafe and am greeted by a tableful of Juans. That day I *really* felt like that song from Cheers, where everyone knows my name ...     The juxtaposition of the license plate insinuations and the establishment at which the owner was presumably a patron cracked me up.     This FM transmitter was why I was freaking out about finding the right USB cable that was also lit. I settled for a cable lit just at the ends (99cent Store) and then getting an adapter from BuyExtras.com, who were the only ones who didn't rape me on shipping for the part. Oh, and my whole purpose was so I could have my laptop play music off my speakers AND the boombox in the living area, and have uniform music throughout my apt. :)     Chris and Jean.     Me looking st00pid, on purpose. Weeeeird...     Salt duck profile. Much to Annie's horror, I popped a piece of it in my mouth. In retrospect, that was gross of me to do, but I was curious as to if it was really made of salt ...     Hugh, in the right place with the right shirt.     Late-night ice cream cravings.     Hugh was shocked at the goodness of the toasted almond in the ice cream. Not sure what kind of expression this is ...     Pigging out on ice-cream late at night.     Nancy and I pretend to be domesticated creatures.     Nancy helps with the soup. (She says: "I can't cook, but I can follow [simple] directions!")     Nancy cracks eggs for me to add to dinner. (Of her culinary talents, she claims, "I can boil water, make ramen, and beat eggs!")     Nancy and Sean model the racist toothpaste I got from Taiwan.     Mimi came to town and brought her hilarious posse with her. Sitting L-R: Mimi, Hugh, Kimi. Standing L-R: Carrie, Dennis, Caroline, Maki.     It was Hugh's idea for me to swing by with a surprise bday cake for Mimi. I love their reactions. Kimi and Maki look appropriately surprised / impressed; Mimi looks like she's rubbing her hands together in evil anticipation. That's our Mimi! :)     Major posage for the camera was the predominant theme this evening.     We are such posers. :)     This is what happens when two major posers think that they're getting their pictures taken when in fact, the camera has been accidentally set to movie mode. (Windows Media Video, 8 secs, 518kB)     Group shot prior to devouring the bday cake.     Carrie and Mimi do a footshake, which is probably analogous to a handshake ... sorta ... but more stinky perhaps.     In the pimp van, for late-night chow.     The pimp van's upper-panel reflective lighting makes it even pimper!     Over late-night disappointingly unsavory food at Hong Kong Food Street, Carrie removes her nose stud and tries to convince us it's clean. I love all the different accents going on here. (Windows Media Video, 44secs, 2.8MB)     My first time eating at Cheddar's. With the nice aquarium and wine display, I thought it'd be pretty nice ...     ... until I received shrimp exoskeleton in my salad ...     ... and saw a yellow fish futilely trying to wake up a dead orange fish at the bottom of the aquarium. (Or is it just playing?)     Through Chef Hugh, I get a glimpse into the competitive culinary world. Some sort of cooking Olympic trials were held at the River Oaks Country Club here in Houston, TX.     Competing chefs scramble to get their food ready before the time is up. A non-competing chef looks over their work.     While they were judging, I walked around the country club. I was especially interested in The Chippendale Room. Didn't see any Chippendales in there, though.     Competition food display.     Competition pastry display.     Hugh serves himself some coffee despite the sign, since there was on one behind the counter at the cafeteria to do it.     A judge scans the plate of food, getting ready to comment to the competitors.     M's new toy. Can you hear it go "vroom" just by looking at it? :)     Happy is, as always, happy to see me.     Happy is, as always, happy to await any wayward scraps that might fall to the floor while Auntie is cooking.     Riding on the back of M's bike made me long for my China scooter days. (Windows Media Video, 37 secs, 2.4MB)     An attempt at Oreo cheesecake before making another one for a surprise bday. It is the ugliest cheesecake I have ever seen, but it tasted really good. :)
