There was snow outside the Amarillo airport when we got there. L-R: William, Pooh, me, Eileen.| Eileen treks thru some previously untouched snow. | That is the awesome MashiMaro car accessory thingy that Pooh and Eileen got me for X'mas, along with a Pineapple Pooh I'd gotten for him a while back. I promptly re-confiscated MashiMaro before I returned to Cali. =) | Here we are by an EXTINCT volcano. L-R: me, William, Pooh, Eileen. | Richard proves me wrong in that the word "extinct" is used to describe volcanos. I lost in the amount of one back massage. | Eileen and I have fun making the Paws family look like thugs. | Pooh in deep sleep. So cute! =) | A McDonald's that lets you order stuff without talking to a real live person, somewhere between Amarillo and Denver. | Waiting for the other half of our group to get to Wahoo's (Denver), we ran around trying to bomb each other with snowballs. | Still waiting. In between snowballs. L-R: William, Eileen, Pooh, me. | Eileen and I mercilessly attacked poor Pooh where he was most vulnerable. | Finally inside Wahoo's. This is a bench made up entirely of snowboards and stickers. L-R: Eileen, me. | Eileen tries to kill snowflakes with her tongue. | When we went to pick Hugh up at the airport, we wanted to make sure we didn't have to circle around again, so Eric drove SUPER SLOW - 6 mph baby - the proof is on the speedometer. =) | Eileen helps to ladle out the soup that master chef Hugh made. L-R: Hugh, Eileen, Patti, Pooh. | More soup ladling action. L-R: Hugh, Eileen, Patti, Pooh. | Eating like kings and queens thanks to master chef Hugh. Patti is caught in the middle of spooning soup from bowl to mouth. L-R: Jessica, Eric, Patti. | More people devouring the feast. Clockwise from bottom left: Minh, Gilbert, William, Kelly. | Me with my face half-frozen on top of Peak 8 on the Solitude trail (black diamond - steep with moguls!). | Me looking REALLY miserable atop Solitude. After this one, I gave up on blacks and relaxed on blues and blue-blacks. | Me trying to defrost in the Peak 9 restaurant while eating my lunch snack. | Man, I swear my mouth looks purple. | The 3 bears. L-R: Pooh, Santa Bear, Grizzly (Hugh). | A sign I saw in a store. I learned that "Hippies" is a brand name. | I thought I'd activated the timer. Evidently not. | OK, this time we were ready. Boyz in da back, L-R: Hugh, Minh, Eric, Pooh, William, Gilbert. Ladiez in da front, L-R: Kelly, Eileen, Jessica, Patti, me. | Patti lays across 65% of the picture. | Nature sure is awesome. Check out that snow blowing off the tops of the mountains. L-R: William, Hugh, Pooh, me, Eileen. | We went nuts in the funky ski/snowboard hat shop before heading back to TX. 3 faces of Caroline: Happy Face Caroline, Blonde Marge Caroline, Viking Braid Caroline. | 3 faces of Hugh: 3rd Finger Hugh, Fish Head Hugh, and Toaster Ready Hugh. | Bob Marley Pooh shakin' it up with Bob Marley Eileen. 2 other faces of Eileen: Fuzzy Yellow Eileen, and Super Fuzzy Pink Eileen. | William shows his wild side (and perhaps his transvestite side) with 5 faces! Clockwise from bottom left: Gem William, Pirate William, NASA William, Kid Rock William, and Prostitute William. By the way, we didn't buy anything at this store. Are we cheap or what? =) | I am such a tourist. This is a dinosaur we spotted beside a gas station. [shrug] L-R: Hugh, me. | The shadow of the car and roofrack on the highway leaving CO. | Pooh thinks he is cool wearing his goggles in place of sunglasses. You can see some snow on the side of the highway. | Pooh turns around for a full shot of him in his goggles. That truck looks Photoshopped, hehe. | For this series of cloud pictures, I stuck my head and camera out the open window of a 80+ mph car. I had to! Cool cloud formations! =) | Pooh called them "UFO-like clouds". | Yes, I risked the lives of me and my camera for 3 whole shots of blue sky, neato clouds, and bits of snow. | Finally in Amarillo, we hit the Big Texan restaurant for dinner. There was a live band that went around to all the tables and played country song requests for tips. | The food arrives. None of the carnivores among us have the guts (nor appetite) to try the "Get a 72 oz. steak for free if you can eat it in an hour" challenge. =) L-R: William, Eileen, Pooh, me. | Pooh kicks the Big Texan bear in the balls a la AdCritic.com. =) | Us standing outside the gaudy Amarillo tourist spot. Clockwise from top left: William, Pooh, Eileen, me. | On my way back to Houston: the floor of the restroom at Dallas Love Field Airport. Get it? =) | |
