First Pics 2008

That first post of 2008 was pretty drab. Thought I'd toss in the first pics of 2008. Here we are on a rooftop in downtown Austin:

A friend told me about high-dynamic range imaging (I haven't done any reading on it yet), but here are my preliminary experiments:

HDRI, for all its capability, can lead to some seriously unnatural-looking pictures. I'm sure that's the intent some of the time, but some of those examples in Wikipedia had a bizarre feel to them.

Re: Someone liked Vista. It's the law of probability; it was bound to happen sometime. I may end up waiting for whatever comes out after Vista. Many companies simply update Windows every other version.
